Securities industry employment in New York City bounced strongly in September, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says in a report issued Tuesday. The News: Pay Thaw at JPMorgan
JPMorgan Chase is lifting the freeze it imposed last year on salaries over $60,000, according to an internal memo initially obtained by Reuters. Because the move is being made as part of the firm's year-end review process, that means some raises may be forthcoming next year. The firm's also restoring its 401(k) match, and paying a one-time $500 "award" early in 2010 to employees whose cash compensation is less than $60,000.
